Mast Chai

Majority of us know and have made tea at least once till today. But we have limited information about the process and the logic behind such process. We often search on making various veg and non-veg food recipes but very less we search for a recipe with tea. Actually we are much more familiar to the tea making process that we see across our surroundings. Even some of us might recommend a friend to such a tea stall where we see pouring tea leaves directly into milk and we prefer that one as “MAST CHAI”. But here, are we really enjoying ‘TEA’ or it’s ‘MILK’?

Besides being a refreshing drink tea also has medicinal value and to retain it in every cup, a proper process is also necessary.

First of all for a good cup of tea, all we need is pure and fresh water which is smell free with very less mineral content in it. Quality of water influences a lot. Then boil the water. Please note that water should not be over boiled and it should only reach to boiling point. Once the water is boiled please stop the temperature. Now pour 1teaspoon/2gm (Let’s say 100ml of water for a cup of tea) of CTC tea to the pan with boiled water in it. Cover the pan and brew it for 5 to 6minutes. While during this time wash the cup preferably porcelain cup with hot water so that once you transfer the tea from the pan it doesn’t gets cool or looses it’s temperature. Now transfer the boiled water with infused tea to your cup by a strainer. Your cup of tea is now ready. If you like milk tea then only one spoon of concentrated milk is enough for a cup of tea. You can also add sugar as per your taste.

The above-mentioned is actually a standard process for making a cup of tea with proper nutritional value in it. Above all along with the fresh water good quality of CTC tea is very much necessary. Further taste varies from person to person as per the number of active tasting buds in an individual.

Let’s now prepare it and enjoy a cup of "MAST CHAI".
